Parent Interviews - Yearly Reflections

My writing goal is (have you changed it, why?) - to use punctuation correctly . I change it because I know how how to spell my words correctly.

I practise this by… at home writing little pieces of writing and edit it and spot where the punctuation should go.

A piece of writing I am proud of is….  The end of year reflection because I feel like I answer it with a lot of information and detail .   

In maths I am currently learning (how do you feel about this, what are your next steps? Give your parents a rundown of what we do as well)… how to cross the hundreds barea because sometimes i get stuck i feel like it is a challenge because it is pushing me and it ganes my confidence. Some ways we solve it is by breaking it down like if i have got 623 plus 454 you can go  6 plus 4 = 10 so that would be 1 thousand then you go 2 plus 5 = 7 so you would have 1 thousand  7 hundred   and then you go 3 plus 4 = 7 so you're answer  is 1 thousand 7 hundred and 7 and some times Mr Dillon gives us word problems and we figure it out and then we get shark tanked and that is when we use cared to find out more .    

Reading - Share your reading work (talk about some of the things you do in reading.)

In reading we recently did a podcast and we talked about  our books and why we chose them i did the most annoying 5 minutes of fame.

What has been the best part of 2017 for-
My favourite part of 2017 is going to camp because we got to go on walks and it was my first time staying away from home.

What is something you have been proud of 2017
 I am proud of  my speech board because I got distinguished 2 times in a row.

What do you think that good learners do?
Good lernens  never believe that they can not solve problems
And put their  minds to the test and set goals.

What is one way that you show that in class?
Like if mr Dillon gives us a hard problem and you think that you can not solve it and then when you think it is not  that hard and you think it is not that hard and you put your mind to it and it is not hard.

What is one Toko Learning Star that you would like to work on and why? Personal best  because I leave my belongings behind and also I need to work on high expectations.

What is one learning goal you are currently working on, what are you doing to achieve it? My goal is to get better at spelling my words in my writing and how I plan to achieve by writing little stories at home.

If you were going to give yourself a message for learning in 2018, what would it be? Give higher expectations and focus on my learning and be less Chatty.

Bike safety

Goal - spell my words in my writing correctly.

Goal - Retell Today was bike safety It was at our school with Jono it was Tuesday .

It was a sunny frosty day we were in the middle of silent reading and Jono the cop walked in   I was a bit scared because he is a cop . then he asked us what is the first thing you need  to do with our bike somebody replied “we check our brakes”and I learned  that  if you ride on a foot path and you are an adult you get a 55 $ dollar fine and if you ride without a helmet. he asked us how to do the stop sign and we all did the normal one and we got it wrong. Then we talk about the brakes and you can check them by doing a sciddy and Jono told mr Dillon to look away because he did it on the class floor I was laughing on the inside and some kids were laughing on the outside we came out to the course and they had to check their brakes  then they learnt how to go around a roundabout and over a bridge I also learned that you can not circle over the pedestrian you have to hop off and walk it across  go through some bumps and around a sharp corner I couldn’t do it because I had a sore foot and I had crunchers I was the class photographer and we did 4 races 

2 slow races and 2 fast  races.

Business reflection

Over the last few weeks our group has been learning about YouTube video and we would like to share it with you . We watched video on how to make YouTube videos
And we have been looking at  websites that tell us what we will need  to make YouTube videos

We have learnt that you don’t need to have a fancy camera to make a YouTube you can use an iPad . If you want to make a YouTube video keep reading on . The first thing you need to do is find out about YouTube videos then you need to find some people to record you and if you  want to do a group video you will need to find a group of people and then you need to write the script and if you do not know go to a school book and find a play and a look at how you read it and also look at the blue witting after that you need to find an iPad or camera and start filming then cheek it and post it on the internet. We have decided to keep working together and our next step is to finish our video and you should look forward to seeing it .

The crazy lawnmower

Goal :

• Retell a story  in my own words

• Improve my spelling in my witting

Let me introduce you to my new invention, I will  tell you about it, no i’m actually not going to tell you anything you will have to read the story. If you want to know sit back and relax because you are in for a treat. Oh by the way I am Hemi I love to invent  so let's move on.

One day I was walking home from school and I saw a blur as I walked closer I saw it was dad. “I wonder what he wants this time.” “ Hello son how was your day of school “ “ good i guess “” well do you want to start the lawns  ”” I  knew he was up to somethin “

So I walked over to the backyard and it was very, very, very, very long.  I wanted to invent a gadget so I don’t have to mow the lawns. So in the evening I snuck out of my window and I found dad in the shed so I slowly backed out and went back to my room. I tried a second time and my sister was in there and she was dancing so I went back to my room, and I  tried a third time and guess what  if you are thinking it was free it wasn’t my mum was talking to her friend  on the phone so I stayed behind the shed  and something was rustling but finally mum came out, it was 9.00 o'clock at night. I  snuck into the shed and and started to explore around and then I came across some rusty scissors and a old nose picker and a laser a blender and 4 steak knives and some guitars strings and a computer. Bang pop scroo I think my dad heard me. Dad walked in then he walked out so I crept out of behind the boxes   and bang pop/ By the time I had finished  it was morning so I wheeled out my mysterious robot and I grabbed the cloth and behold my lawnmower I shouted in a phone and it mowed the lawns. I went inside and made myself a lemonade and relaxed. I fell asleep to the sound of a lawnmower buzzing “this is the life “ I said.

I woke up because I heard the sound of some screaming people “help help” said some people. I raced down to the center of the town and there I saw my lawnmower it was digging a hole like a big hippo. Eventually he was digging in the middle of the earth he hit the lava but he was so strong we keep the pain in and kept digging he popped out the other side of the world that wasn’t supposed to happen he fell right down. So i walked home sadly dad was on the lawn  “so where were you?” ” um in town”  but the lawns aren't mowed “um what have you been doing all this time “ hey have you seen the the blender””  no “ well you better get started on the lawns and you will do it for 4 more weeks” at dinner we were until dad started talking about the blender i didn't want to tell him what happened so i kept quiet and i already have to mow the lawns for 4 weeks .

Maddy -  so if you are wondering what stable backyard is when visitors come from all over the world to vist our school we give free tours and they can buy stuff from the stand

Riley - so know we are going to the chicken coop for a tour

Maddy- hello this is our chicken coop / describe the coop

Riley - that was so good wait a minute have you got chickens you should go buy some chicken so we will see you after the break.

Maddy’s ad - Hey have you got chickens, well i got that sorted here is some reasons you should buy some chickens                                                     

1. They give you fresh egg’s
2. They are friendly
3. You can have fun learning the names
4. You can hug them

You can collect the poop and turn it into compost or fertilizer

Calendar art

Goal - produce a piece of art using media.

What I did - We got watercolors and we looked up on the internet sunsets and we chose some colours and started. After that we painted the tree trunk black and did the branches with a fine brush. Then we got red and green for the flowers and some black for the leaves. Then we sat down and got a picture of us reading a book . And finally we traced over it with vivid.

What I liked- when we got our picture because we could pick any book and read it and I like having pictures.
